The Gentle Drops

It was one of those days, which we feel low. Nothing seemed interesting. Starting from morning, the water guy was late. I had to give him some money, hence kept waiting for him till 10 am in the morning. I was supposed to reach office by 9 am. The clock ticked 10. I lost my patience. I grabbed my bags and keys, kept the empty can at the door step and locked the door from the outside. As I walked down the stairs, I slipped and fell down. I thought... Ah! this is normal. Thank god! I only hurt my bump. Stood up supporting myself to the staircase handle. As I walked down I was thinking about when was the last time I fell and had a serious injury on this stairs? It was last September after a rain as stairs were wet. I looked at the sky through the window pane. It wasnt too sunny. I sighed thinking that it isnt sunny, due to the cyclonic weather, that Abhishek kept mentioning about the previous day. As I came down and rode over on my scooty, the shops werent open. The laundry guy was clos

An Unexpected Visitor

It is 8 am in the morning. I just woke up hearing maid had come to clean the house. The summer morning sun was quite sharp and the rays penetrated through the the vintage wooden window of my ancestral house. It is quite an old building. It was just yesterday, my cousins and sister were telling that they spotted a snake under the jackfruit tree. I couldnt quite open my eyes. My granny had to come and pull me out of bed. I walked out of the room to forlorn to see my old and sick grandpa sitting on the furniture. He asked me when were we leaving, I replied in sometime, as my sister need to get into her campus before 8 in the night. And it is going to be a 6 hour drive. Grandpa was better than the last time. He necessarily was not so healthy or happy but looked like he was gathering all energy to fight pessimism. After all he would have realised after 75 years of optimistic fighting for life, a moment lapse on pessimism was a mistake and had to do better now. And we smiled to each other

Who rules the Grassland?

Being nature enthusiasts and in a place far from home, the snowflake and six of her friends along with professor snowflake set out for a journey. A short one, but an exciting one none the less. Their story goes this way....  We gathered things that we might need during the journey food, water, polythenes and bottles and many other knick-knacks. The two days spent in Dineshpur were spent being bundled up in layers of sweaters and socks as we feared that we might freeze up in the forest area we were planning to explore. We also were told that the lot of the forest area we were visiting was unexplored and the wild  animals walk around without human interference. With enthusiasm and apprehensions in our heart and mind we set out. After a few kilometres we were told the road we took turn to leads to the forest area. The road was lined with colourful houses, some made of mud and wood and some with bricks. Every rock and bump our vehicle passed blew out a cloud of dust into the air. We

The friendship

Friendship... one word that people celebrate. When people can make friends so easily, I am among those who struggles a lot to make one. Growing up, I would feel left out and often punished in class for being myself. "Come on who wants to be friends with her...? Okay let me think.... eh.. No one." It took me so many years  as young woman to manage to call a group of people her friends. I kept warning them, "as I keep moving on, my interests change, my priorities change, my friends might change. I will remember all of you but might still have to move on". Now I think it is a matured thought. As we move on in life, things changes, people we meet are different, we hang out with are different, the food we used to like were different etc. So whats wrong with moving on. At any point we have to. So to forsee it and inform my buddies  about this most probable possibilty was the best thing I could do. So did I. Years passed. Over years it so happend, the number of years

Introduction to the snowflake

Well I belong to the southern part of the country which is close to equator. The giant Himalayas in the north apparantly, as heard from a friend at work recently, is the reason why we never even get snow. He was telling me that at the same time there are other countries near to the equator which receive snow falls. To see the real snow I might have to travel to Leh Ladakh in the late winter or early summer. Yes It is India that is being talked about. So it is true that I have never seen real snow flake. But I have seen a couple of videos on YouTube which shows the formation of snow. Trust me, I am mind blown by the way the crystal grows. Just splendid. I have heard that no two snowflakes are the same. There are no carbon copies. I have read somewhere that even the identical twins, which are really really rare, are not so identical as they vary in their X factor. Pfft not the reality show. X huh?? Fancy letter. They found a new ray. They called it X ray. In maths anything unknown is
